Caundle Marsh Parish Dorset

	Caundle Marsh is a small parish 4 miles south east from Sherborne. The church of Sts Peter and Paul was rebuilt in 1857, however the registers date from the year 1667. There are stained glass windows to the Auber family and Wilmot, there is room for 70 persons. There was a charity of £1 which was distributed annually, 4/- to each of five poor men.
The area of the parish is 950 acres which is principally laid to pasture. There is a letter box near the Rectory but no post office. The children go to school at Caundle Bishop or Folke. The population in 1891 was 93. Most information from Kelly's Directory for 1895.
