Sacred to the memory of CHRISTINE, wife of GEORGE TILLY GOLLOP ESQ. of Strode, daughter of HUBERT VAN DER VLIEGEN of Hasslet near Liege. She died March the 19th 1865 aged 76. R.I.P.
And to the memory of her husband, GEORGE TILLY GOLLOP, Born 11th October 1791, Died 22nd February 1889 Interred in the cemetery of Bridport. In my father’s house are many mansions.
Also of GEORGE GOLLOP, eldest son of the above CHRISTINE & GEORGE TILLY GOLLOP, late a Captain in Her Majesty’s 2nd (The Queen’s Royal) Reg. of Foot, who died at Strode 30th May 1890, and was buried in Netherbury churchyard, aged 64 years. |
In a Vault Underneath are deposited the Remains of THOMAS GOLLOP ESQ. who died 26th January 1793, aged 47. He graced a Gentleman’s Fortune with a Gentleman’s Deportment. He was a friend to all, Especially the Poor. In private, by the Charity of his Hand; In publick, by his Judgement and Munificence towards the Support of Those Institutions intended for their Relief. He left two Sons, GEORGE TILLY GOLLOP and THOMAS GOLLOP. May they imitate their Father’s Virtues! |

Here lie the remains of JANE, the wife of THOMAS GOLLOP of Sherborne and Strode in the County of Dorset, ESQ. and daughter of the REV. JAMES SAWKINS L.L.B., Vicar of Frampton and Rector of Bettiscombe in the same County. She departed this life March 20th 1824, aged 38 years. This monument is erected to the memory of the kindest and tenderest and most affectionate of mothers in token of the deepest regret, honor and love, by her only surviving son G. T. GOLLOP. |

In the memory of the REV. THOMAS JAMES, M.A. Who for 19 years was God’s faithful Minister in this Parish. He died April 8th 1866, aged 75 years.
This tablet has been erected by his friends and parishioners. |
To the Memory of SAMUEL WHETCOMBE ESQ. and ROBERT his Eldest Son and JOHN his third Son, the first of whom Died Jan the 20th 1739 aged 75 years and the next Nov 20th 1737 aged 25 years and the last June 10th 1742 aged 26 years.
This Monument is Erected by SAMUEL WHETCOMBE ESQ. the second Son of the said SAMUEL WHETCOMBE ESQ. deceased, in Testimony of his filial duties to his father and his tender affection for his Two Brothers.
Also SIMON the fourth Son Died the 28th November 1745 aged 27 years.
SAMUEL WHETCOMBE ESQ. the second Son died 4th February 17-- aged --- years and MARY WHETCOMBE the Wife of the said SAMUEL WHETCOMBE ESQ. and Mother of his said four Sons died 29th October 1765, Aged 80 years. |

With Faith in God and ever affectionate memory of our son GARETH HAMILTON FLETCHER 2nd Lieut. Grenadier Guards, who was killed in action in the front trenches at Guinchy La Bassee France, on the 25th Jan. 1915. And also of our son-in-law LAWRENCE R. FISHER-ROWE Lt. Col. Grenadier Guards. who died on the 13th March 1915, from wounds received whilst commanding the 1st Batt. Grenadier Guards at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle France, the day before.
