NOTE
The accustomed fee for the burial of persons in Castleton Churchyard, who died out of the parish, commonly called the fee for breaking ground is established upon the report of the Curates who preceded me, to be a Rose Trestle? or Six shillings and eight pence.
Signed George Griffin STONESTREET - curate 1807
The fee for burial within Castleton Church is as in most cases, arbitrarily fixed by the then Incumbent. At the burial of Mr.
James HODDINOTT in October 1806; Mr Charles DIGBY directed me to receive a mark or Thirteen shillings and four pence.
