Stratton
is a small parish of 694 hectares, on the River Frome, 3½ miles North-West of Dorchester.  The village of Stratton and the hamlets of Grimstone, Ash Hill and Wrackleford within the parish, have a total population of about 630, living in 279 properties.

St. Mary’s Church, Stratton was largely rebuilt in 1891, although of the 13th  Century Early English building, the Porch, Chancel Arch, Hagioscope and Font remain. The 14th Century Tower houses a spiral staircase from the Tudor period  and five bells.

Green Hall & Pub

In the Churchyard is an ancient Stone Cross. Parish Registers date  from 1561. (Source - Friends of St. Mary's, Stratton)

Stratton Village Hall and the Saxon Arms Public House were both constructed during 2000/1 adjacent to the Village Green. The village has sports facilities for football, tennis, volleyball, badminton and boules.
